Our Story
Founders Kevin Atkins and David Steele organized Home Medical Products, Inc. (HMP) in September 2004 with a passion for offering local community residents quality solutions for medical equipment in the home – solutions that would help people live better.
The company has expanded its programs and services to serve physicians, hospitals, and other healthcare partners more effectively with quality care plans for home patients, leading to innovative solutions and improved health outcomes. In June 2023, HMP was acquired by VieMed Healthcare, another prominent leader in respiratory care and technology-enabled home medical equipment services, to form an even more powerful partnership and healthcare resource for patients.
Today, the combined organizations treat over 96,000 patients nationwide, with HMP managing medical equipment offices throughout Tennessee, Alabama, and Mississippi.
The company boasts one of the healthcare industry’s most comprehensive, in-home patient care continuums. Its professional and clinical staff, combined with its network of healthcare partners, vendor partners, payor/insurance partners, software/connectivity solutions, and organizational infrastructure, makes it the top choice for patients and their caregivers.
